SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER


LOCATION: DARLINGTON

Qualifications & Experience
Degree qualified in mechanical, structural, offshore engineering or naval architecture, competent Microsoft Project & Office Suite user, autocad experience preferable but not essential, with solid post grad experience, preferably with an offshore contractor.

Flexible, proactive and effective team player, demonstrating good communication skills (verbal and written), you will be able to prioritise workloads, multi-task manage and remain focused under pressure.  

Role Description

  • Reporting to the Engineering Manager to provide onshore and offshore technical support to Projects and Engineering in the completion of technical deliverables, ensuring work is carried out in a competent, efficient and cost effective manner throughout all phases of its execution, and in accordance with financial, Client and Company requirements.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage project engineering resources within the group, supervising workloads and assigning tasks of Project Engineers to enable the safe and efficient delivery of projects, as required and in compliance with Company QHS&E procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for all technical and engineering input to assigned Project, including:
     -  Preparation of calculations, analyses, procedures and task plans to support project activities
     -  Design and engineering of special or modified equipment
     -  Preparation of and participation in capability presentations to clients and others.
     -  Investigation of equipment capability for assets
     -  Actively participate in the project management function and have sufficient knowledge of the particular project contractual and commercial details such that you can act as an efficient deputy for the Project Manager.
     -  Prepare a list of all documentation deliverables for the project and promptly present these to the relevant department managers.
     -  Review all procedures, calculations, analysis documents and drawings prepared by project and other engineers on the assigned live project.
     -  Identify those areas of work where subcontract involvement is required and where appropriate, lead the tendering process, contract award and subsequent subcontract supervision of this function.
     -  Ensure that as-builds are compiled in an efficient manner.
