SUPPORT ENGINEER

LOCATION: DARLINGTON

Qualifications & Experience
Professionally qualified (minimum HNC or other recognised qualification) in an engineering discipline (Mechanical/Electrical).  Competent Microsoft Project & Office Suite user (Word/Excel/Outlook etc).

Solid & proven Engineering experience, with experience of Subsea/Offshore industry in particular cable/trenching operations and North sea type construction activities particularly desirable.  Experience of operating/maintenance of SMD built subsea vehicles would be a distinct advantage.

Person Spec
With strong analytical skills and demonstrating excellent communication skills (verbal and written), you will be able to work with little/no supervision, prioritise workloads, multi-task manage and working to tight deadlines - remain focused under pressure.

Role Description
To provide day-to-day technical support of CTC operations equipment (Ploughs, Cable Machinery, ROV systems) and ensure that it is available to meet project/contract requirements safely and with due regard for budget provision.  Assist with mobilisations/ demobilisations of systems for vessels, evaluate/report on technical problems, and assess technical requirements.

  • Assist in the implementation and management of a comprehensive scheduled preventative maintenance scheme utilising AMOS M&P system (including calibration and maintenance / defect reporting) to secure high levels of    availability and first class appearance of the systems, within or below budget.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate shipboard spares and repair / maintenance equipment inventories.
  • Assist in the monitoring, investigation, corrective action and close out of NCR’s and provide full support to all other internal management systems including CNQ, SAMS etc.
  • Identify areas of recurring problems and or the need for equipment modifications   and raise with the equipment support engineer.
  • Assist in the provision and continuous development of comprehensive operational procedures for the systems.
  • Provide technical support and advice to the offshore crews and Project Managers.
