CTC receives contract award from Acergy Norway AS for the
Volund Project
CTC Marine Projects (a DeepOcean ASA subsidiary) has recently been
awarded a trenching contract with Acergy Norway AS for the Marathon
Volund project.
The work scope will include pre-cut and post-lay ploughing and backfill
operations for the following products; 12.2 km control umbilical, 7.8km 12"
production line, 8.9km 4" gas lift line and 12.3km 12.3" ID flexible water
injection line. One of CTC's heavy pipeline ploughs will be used for this work
deployed from a Maersk 'A' class vessel.
Taking place in Norwegian Block 24/9, the work will start in Q3 2008 and last
for approximately 45 days.
CTC's managing director, Tony Inglis commented, 'The work is core trenching
business for CTC and we are delighted to be undertaking this project for
Acergy Norway AS and Marathon Petroleum Company (Norway).
