DeepOcean awarded contract by Shell

DeepOcean ASA's subsidiary CTC Marine Projects Ltd., has been awarded a contract by Shell for a project relating to the Curlew oil field in the North Sea.

The scope of work at the Curlew FPSO includes the recovery of two flexible risers which pass over a mid water arch and the installation of two replacement risers. The risers are approximately 300 metres in length and are located in a water depth of 90 metres.

The work is scheduled to start in late August 2007 and to last for 24 days, involving the Maersk 'R' class vessel mobilised with a flexible lay system.

CTC's Managing Director Tony Inglis commented, 'The work is core flex-lay business for CTC and we are delighted to be assisting Shell in renewing their riser facilities on a very short turnaround.'
