T1, built by SMDHydrovision, uses a proven design for trenching of pipeline, flowline and umbilicals.
In addition to its wheel cutter system, T1 has the ability to bury pre-laid pipe, flowlines or cables in soft/sandy seabed conditions by means of its jetting system. Two jetter blades attached at the rear of the machine in place of a wheel cutter fluidise the soil around the product causing it to fall to a set depth below the mean seabed level. The result is a product buried to a depth of up to 2m with a significant cover generated as the seabed recovers from this forced fluidisation.
