T2, built by SMDHydrovision, provides trenching of rigid pipelines and flowlines in hard soil conditions.
At the heart of T2 is a single chain cutter, 2 grabs mounted front and rear pick the product up off the seabed and pass it over the cutter, the machine can then be driven along the seabed cutting a vertical side trench below the product before lowering it into a trench up to 1.6m deep. A jetter is fitted for simultaneous use where necessary, increasing the product depth by fluidising the remaining spoil produced by the cutter. In sand or soft soils this system can be used as the primary trenching tool.
